MotionLED
Section EN 81-20 §5.3.7.1 defines a critical safety requirement for elevator installations: a minimum of 50 lux at floor level in the immediate area of each landing door. This ensures that passengers can clearly see the transition area when entering the elevator — even in the event of a car lighting failure.
This requirement directly addresses one of the highest-risk moments in elevator use: the transition between the landing and the cabin, where insufficient lighting can lead to trips or missteps. For this reason, landing illumination must operate independently of the cabin lighting system.
A significant number of existing installations, originally certified under EN 81-1/2, do not meet this requirement and require upgrading to comply with current standards.
The MotionLED 2×1W has been specifically developed to address this need. When installed at a height of 2.20 m, it delivers 115 lux at floor level — more than twice the required minimum — ensuring full compliance and enhanced safety at every landing. The integrated PIR motion sensor activates the light only when needed, maintaining efficiency without compromising performance.
